Annette “Ann” Nank, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, surrounded by the family who cherished her so deeply. Her passing followed a courageous journey after a stroke she suffered just over a year ago. During that time, she was lovingly cared for at home—the place she felt most at peace—by her devoted husband, David, her son Bryan, and her sister-in-law, Carol.
Born on January 20, 1956 in Warren, Michigan, to Lawrence and Betty Schulte, Ann’s life was one of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Warren, MI, and later married the love of her life, David Nank, on June 25, 1994. Ann’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with them—whether visiting Boston to see her grandchildren, Griffin and Reagan, or gathering around the table for her famous Sunday roasts. Her famous chocolate chip cookies and various treats lovingly baked for Bryan, became a symbol of her care and a sweet reminder of her nurturing spirit.
Creativity was woven into the fabric of Ann’s life. She enjoyed creating floral arrangements and various craft projects that brought beauty to those around her. She was also a natural caregiver—someone who instinctively gave of herself when others needed comfort or support.
Her Shetland sheepdogs, with their playful energy, brought her constant joy, and she loved watching them run free in the yard. Yet perhaps Ann’s truest sanctuary was the outdoors—mornings on her deck, coffee in hand, watching the sun rise as the birds sang, will remain a treasured memory for those who knew her best.
Ann leaves behind her husband of 31 year, David Nank; her children Laura (Jared) Maxwell and Bryan Nank; her grandchildren, Griffin and Reagan Maxwell; and her siblings, Cathy (Art) David, Joe (Camille) Schulte, and Jim Schulte. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Carol Nank, and brothers-in-law, Steve, Tom, and John Nank, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed to know her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Betty Schulte.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Ann’s life. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized.
