Anthony John Petty, aged 54, of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2025, after bravely facing a 14-month battle with advanced metastatic prostate cancer. He was born on August 25, 1970, in Warren, Michigan, to the late William and Joann Petty.
Tony was a proud graduate of Chippewa Valley High School and dedicated 30 years to his work at McKernan Overhead Doors in Roseville. He began his career as a door installer and achieved the role of Service Manager, having joined the Iron Workers Local 25 along the way. His commitment to his craft and extraordinary skills were evident in every project he undertook.
A true jack of all trades, Tony was known for his ability to visualize and execute complex designs with creativity and precision. In both his professional and personal life, he found joy in working with his hands and tackling various projects.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Tony shared his love for hunting and fishing with his sons, spending cherished moments at the family's property "up north" where he managed food plots and hunted. Fishing was a beloved tradition for him, fondly bringing family and friends together for fish fries to enjoy the day's catch.
Tony also had a passion for the stock market, pursuing self-education through books and research. His most recent endeavor involved working on his 2011 Ram 2500, where he was in the process of removing the engine and transmission.
A devoted sports fan, Tony particularly loved hockey and wrestling, proudly supporting the Red Wings throughout the years.
Known for his kind spirit, Tony was well-liked by all who crossed his path. He cherished his family; he was a loving husband, an excellent provider, and a proud father and grandfather, taking immense joy in his adult sons and doting on his grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 26.5 years, Lisa; sons, Sheldon (Hailey), Carter (Sasha), and Vaughn; grandchildren, Bentley, Genavieve, Ezra, and Silas; his mother, Joann; brothers, Andrew (Candice) and Matthew; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church, located at 40501 Hayes Rd, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48313, at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow.
