Anthony Victor

Anthony (Tony) Victor, of Warren, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by his family. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Tony led a long and fulfilling life marked by love, achievement, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Philip and Antonia Ignagni, and his sister, Ilene (Larry) Roberts.

Tony leaves behind a loving family who were the center of his world. He is survived by his children, Mark (Ann) Victor, Cathie (Andy) Victor, John (late-Cindy) Victor, and Janice Victor; his grandchildren, Anthony (Amy), Joe, Matt (Hollyn), Jimmy, Nick (Marissa), Timmy, Katie (Wayne), and Danny; and his great-grandchildren, Jesse, Palmer, Baker, Finlay, Isla, and Mason. Tony is also survived by his sister, Carmela (late-Gene) Veneri, and his brother, Mario (Kathy) Ignagni. Each of them carries forward the values, humor, and love that Tony so generously shared along with the countless lives that he touched.

The son of Italian immigrants—his father arriving in America in 1921 and his mother in 1928. Tony was raised in Detroit and graduated from St Joseph High School in 1952. The friendships he formed there endured throughout his lifetime. In 1957, Tony married the love of his life, Margaret (Marge) Wanicke and had four children-Mark, Cathie, John, and Janice.

Tony’s pursuit of knowledge led him to the University of Detroit, where he studied engineering and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1956. This academic achievement paved the way for his career at Chrysler. Tony began his professional life in the Chrysler Missile Division. He and his brother Mario had a role in the Apollo mission beginning in 1965. Tony designed and prepared drawings and specifications and supervised the foundation work for the fixtures and machines used to build missile components. He then worked in various operations at several locations until he retired from Chrysler in 1989.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tony was a man of many passions. He was known for his love of golf, fishing, and playing cards. These activities not only provided him with enjoyment but also opportunities to share laughter and camaraderie with others. The monthly lunches that he shared with his long-time friends became cherished traditions. Trips to casinos and buffets were some of favorite pastimes, but nothing compared to the joy he found in supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events and recitals. Marge also shared the same passion for golf and being with her grandchildren were her major source of joy as well. Both Tony and Marge treasured all their friendships and the memories that were made on vacations, outings, dinners, and celebrations. Sadly, Marge passed away in 2013. Time spent visiting with his great-grandchildren brought a special warmth and happiness to Tony in his later years.

Tony’s character was illuminated by his kindness, his ability to bring levity to serious moments, and his unconditional friendliness. He was that rare individual who could put everyone at ease, his unique sense of humor offering comfort and connection to all who knew him. Tony’s presence will be dearly missed but his legacy endures in the hearts and memories of those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
