Barbara Helen Devroy

Barbara Helen Devroy, lovingly known as Barb, has passed away peacefully on May 23, 2023, in Clinton Township, Michigan. She was born on July 29, 1946, in Detroit to the late Glen and Alice Spencer.

Barbara grew up in Detroit where she attended East Detroit High School. She married the late William Devroy Jr. in 1964 and the couple resided for 42 years on the same street in Warren, Michigan where they built a beautiful life together.

Barbara was an extremely loving mother to her three boys: Brad, Brent (Denise), and Brian (Debra). Her six grandchildren: Kayla, Kristie, Brandon, Briona, Aubrey and Tessa brought immense joy into her life. She was known for being a selfless soul who loved her family deeply and made sure there was never a dull moment with them.

Barbara had an adventurous spirit which prompted her to try out various hobbies with her beloved husband Bill by her side. They raced cars together, rode horses in the countryside wilderness camped under majestic skies or fished together. They loved embracing new experiences as they came their way. The hobbies they loved were ones that included their family members too since that brought them immense joy.

It was well-known that Barbara had a great sense of humor; she always had a lively spirit and brought laughter into every room she entered. She would often go out with friends or have them over at home; they would all sit around the table laughing until their bellies hurt! Barbara also loved spending time shopping since she had a great eye for coordinating colors; this was just one of many ways in which she expressed her inherent creativity.

Today we look back at Barbara's journey filled with love and lasting memories that will carry on forever. Although we will all miss her dearly, we take comfort in the fact that she lived a beautiful life filled with joy, laughter, and endless love.

A service will be held at a later time to celebrate and honor the life of this remarkable woman who touched so many hearts during her stay with us.
