Bernadette Janet Doto, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Chesterfield, Michigan. She was born on 29,1932, in Detroit, Michigan, and was a long-time resident of Macomb Township, Michigan.
Bernadette dedicated 25 years of her career to Michigan Bell/AT&T, where she became known for her sweet voice and infectious laughter. Her warmth and congenial spirit left an indelible mark on her colleagues and friends alike. Outside of her professional life, Bernadette contributed her time and support to the Wounded Warriors Project, reflecting her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to those in need.
In her personal life, Bernadette was cherished for her love of family and her engaging hobbies. An avid crossword puzzle whiz, she also found joy in jigsaw puzzles and adored the sounds of big band era music. A passionate birdhouse and model bird enthusiast, she delighted in the beauty of nature.
Bernadette is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Gilliam, Joseph Doto, David Doto, Susan Armento, and Tim Doto. She was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember her with fondness and affection. She also leaves behind her brother, Ronald Urban, and sister, Debbie Ollie.
She joins in eternal rest her late husband, Joseph Doto, as well as her deceased siblings, Larry Urban, Joseph Urban, Kenneth Urban, and her son, Michael Doto.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Bernadette's life will be held on April 24, 2026, at Christian Memorial Gardens West, located at 521 E Hamlin Rd, Rochester Hills, MI. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.
Bernadette Janet Doto's spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, remembered for her kindness, laughter, and her passion for life. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
