Brandon Daniel Samuel

April 24, 1986 — January 1, 2026

White Lake, Michigan

Brandon Daniel Samuel, age 39, passed away on January 1, 2026, in Royal Oak, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 24, 1986, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Brandon lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering love for those around him.

A proud graduate of Paul K. Cousino High School and student at Baker College, Brandon found his calling as an independent contractor in home improvement. He poured his heart into every project, restoring homes with a meticulous eye and a craftsman’s pride. His work was more than a job, it was an extension of his character: thoughtful, generous, and built to last.

Brandon was a man with a gentle heart and an unmistakable kindness that radiated to everyone he met. His warmth made it easy for him to form lasting friendships; strangers quickly became friends under the light of his laughter and sincerity. He lived with an infectious smile, always curious, always giving, and always present.

He found joy outdoors and was happiest when surrounded by nature. Whether fishing or hunting in the quiet woods, Brandon cherished these moments deeply. He also had a passion for working on cars. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, karaoke, traveling, and long walks with his dogs in the woods. He brought energy and fun wherever he went. Water sports like knee boarding and tubing were among his favorite pastimes in the Michigan Summers and loved his property on the lake. He also had an extreme passion for cooking. For eight months, Brandon was unable to eat by mouth, yet he pressed on and grew an even deeper love for cooking. Though he could not take part, he took great joy in preparing meals for others, always wanting those around him to be fed, comforted, and happy.

Brandon’s greatest joy came from time spent with loved ones. He is survived by his devoted Wife Stephanie Samuel; son Anthony (Avery) Samuel; and Stepdaughter Shyanne Rice. He also leaves behind his Father Thomas Samuel and Stepmother Cathie Samuel; Mother Ann Adams and Stepfather Gary Adams; Brother Brian Samuel and Wife Kristin Samuel; Sister Beth Stamat and Fiancé Anthony Jackson; Brother Benjamin Samuel and partner Cynthia Roskey; Step Siblings Alan Seeley, Jennifer Fresch, and Renee Sansoterra

His extended family includes Uncle Robert Starr and Aunt Pam Starr; Uncle Mike Samuel; Uncle Lee Samuel and Aunt Cindy Samuel; Aunt Susan Samuel; Nieces Lauren Reeves (and Husband Anthony Reeves), Lily Samuel, Mikayla Samuel, Abigale Samuel; Nephews Bremen Samuel, Dominic Monahan, Benjamin Samuel, Dylan Stamat, Gavin Stamat; Great Nephew Emmett Samuel Reeves; Cousins Robert Samuel, Jessica Clark, Scott Samuel, Tim Gratopp, Mark Gratopp, Kevin Gratopp, Matthew Gratopp, Jason Starr, Bradley Starr, Lisa Starr, and Cara Starr. Brandon also leaves behind his beloved dogs Legend and Titan Samuel—his loyal companions through whom he loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Betty Force and Harold and Louise Samuel; Aunt Karon Gratopp; Uncle Robert Samuel; and Cousin Nena Samuel.

In 2025, Brandon experienced a profound spiritual transformation when he gave his life to Jesus. He was baptized on August 3 of that year, a moment of deep peace and renewal that brought him strength during the most challenging days of his illness.

Throughout his illness, Brandon’s vulnerability and perseverance inspired thousands. By sharing his journey publicly online, with extraordinary courage, he became a beacon of hope to many beyond his immediate circle. Brandon's journey was shared worldwide, and his story was broadcast on Fox 2 News. Even in hardship, he continued to uplift others with his smile and strength.

Brandon’s legacy lives on not only in the homes he restored, or the memories made with his many friends, but also in the countless lives of strangers he touched with his spirit when his story went viral. His journey is one of love freely given, laughter that lingered long after he left the room and faith that bloomed out of his tribulation.

May Brandon’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him. His light remains undimmed in the hearts he touched.

There will be no funeral or memorial service, rather Brandon wanted to have a celebration of life. Brandon’s celebration will be by invitation only, due to limited seating. We will also be broadcasting the event LIVE on Facebook and Tik Tok, so everyone can be part of the celebration. This will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 1:00-4:00
