Charles Louis Adas, "Chuck", passed away at home Friday, September 10, 2021. Chuck was born November 19, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Clarence and Lorraine Adas. Chuck was the younger brother of Paul Adas (wife Sherline).
He grew up in Detroit the "Motor City" with a host of hobbies including building dragsters in the 1950's. Chuck enlisted in the US Marines Corps and was stationed in Japan. Following his faithful service to his Country and the Corps, he came home and went work at the Chrysler missile plant and then transitioned into the marine fabrication industry.
Chuck eventually went out on his own and started his own company in 1973, later retiring at age 80. When his sons were younger, he coached hockey in St. Clair Shores. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family at their cabin in Indian River. He was well respected by his peers and was always a source of knowledge to those around him.
Chuck was the beloved husband of 62 years to Josephine (nee: Militello) Adas, and was the loving father to Anthony, Kim Marie, Allan (wife Rose), and Andrew (wife Jennifer). Additionally he was the cherished grandfather of April and Amber Smelser, Annie Atkins (Sullivan), Nina (White), Joseph Adas, Dean and Justin Allen, and great-grandfather of Jordan, Keith, Gavin, Tyrel, Noah, Logan, Ethan, Abby, Quinton, and Vince. Chuck will be dearly missed by those who came to know him.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Christ Gospel Tabernacle located at 30500 Harper Ave., St. Clair Shores, MI 48082. Luncheon following at Cranks Banquet facility. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wounded Warriors Project or St. Jude Children's Memorial Hospital.
