Charles Kelly O'Donnell, affectionately known as Kelly, was born on October 28, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away on March 19, 2024, in Warren, Michigan. He was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School, class of 1965.
Kelly led a remarkable life filled with dedication and passion. In the 1970s, he embarked on a humble journey by starting a small lawn cutting business. Through hard work and perseverance, his business evolved into a prestigious residential and commercial landscaping enterprise that flourished over four decades.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kelly's love for sports shone brightly throughout his life. A state champion wrestler in 1965, he carried this achievement with pride. His unwavering support for Michigan State University football and basketball teams reflected his loyalty and fervor for sports. Additionally, his heart belonged to the Detroit professional sports teams, particularly the Red Wings. Golf was another one of Kelly's cherished pastimes; he actively engaged in various golf leagues until his late 60s.
Kelly's passing came while surrounded by close friends and family as he grieved the loss of his beloved wife and life partner, Barbara. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him best.
He is survived by his son Keith (Aimee), granddaughters Olivia and Robyn, brother John Michael (Andrea), sisters Mary Kathleen Ochmanski (Richard) and Ann Christine (Walter), along with numerous other loved ones.
In remembrance of Charles Kelly O'Donnell's, a service will be held on Friday, April 19th from 5-9 pm at the Royal Oak Woman's Club for both Kelly and Barbara. This date holds tremendous significance for them, as this would have been their 44th wedding anniversary.
