Chester Travis Jackson born on January 9, 1954, affectionately known as Chet, passed away on November 1, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. Chet was a proud member of the Class of 1970 at Denby High School, where he formed friendships that would last a lifetime.
Chet's journey through life was marked by resilience and strength. He battled cancer for nine years, demonstrating extraordinary courage and determination. Despite this lengthy fight, it was a brief but fierce battle with COVID-19 that ultimately led to his passing after 18 days in the ICU.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Deborah (Debbie) Jackson, who stood by his side through every hardship. Chet was a cherished brother to Diane Charron, Christine Jackson, and Jeffrey (Donna) Jackson. He adored his godson, Patrick Sadowski, and counted his special friend and brother-in-law Craig Carlson among his closest companions. He found joy in the company of his loyal dog, Zoey, who was truly his best friend.
Chet was the father to Brian Jackson and Kristin (Paul) Creson. He was the grandfather to four grandchildren. His love extended to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Chet is preceded in death by his late parents, Theodore and Jeanette Jackson, his brother in laws Bill Charron and Tom Sadowski and his precious sister, June Sadowski (Tom). The memories of his loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Chester Travis Jackson will be deeply missed, and his legacy of love, strength, and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
