Dana Rose was born August 3, 1952 in Saginaw Michigan. The son of the late Ben Rose and the late Laurine (Wayne) Roeglin, passed away at home in Harrison Township, Michigan on July 25, 2025.
Dan was a proud member of the Saginaw High School class of 1970 and graduated from Bridgeport High School, then served in the United States Army. After serving, Dan returned to Saginaw where he met and later married Jane Marie Hollingsworth. Together they raised their 4 children, Brandon, Steven, Allyson and Nathan.
Dan enjoyed camping, coaching his kids sports teams and watching football. He also volunteered with the Saginaw & Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Friendship Games in the 1980's and later coached basketball and floor hockey with the Saginaw Special Olympics.
Dan is survived by his beloved children, Steven, Allyson (Mario) Gonzales, Nathan (Carrie) Rose, and daughter-in-law Ann Rose from his 35 year marriage to Jane, who preceded him in death in 2009. Dan is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Rose, Raymond Torrez, Adam, Alyssa, Alex and Aaron Rose, Andrew and Gabriel Hunter, Cheyanne & Juan Gonzales, Jacob, Abigail and Bennett Rose as well as their spouses and children. Dan later married Elise Jean Austin, who survives him, along with her children Lorrie (Todd) Surchik, Robert (Connie) Coffey and Joshua (Ashley) Coffey and Elise's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dan is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Edward) Gustafson and Patricia (John) Collison and a brother, David Roeglin, as well as Jane's sister Ann Schluckbier and brothers Floyd (Su) Hollingsworth, Bill Hollingsworth, Tom (Diane) Hollingsworth, Jeff (Kim) Hollingsworth and numerous nieces and nephews. Dan was also preceded in death by his son Brandon and his brothers in law, Bill Schluckbier, John Hollingsworth and Mike Hollingsworth.
Dan touched the lives of his family and friends and his contagious smile and sense of humor will truly be missed. According to Dan's wishes, his remains were cremated. A memorial service will take place Saturday, August 2, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw, 121 S, Harrison St. Saginaw, Michigan at 11:00 a.m. Family will be present at the church an hour before services.
