David Michael Bland

David Michael Bland, a beloved resident of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 70. Born on September 16, 1952, David was a caring and compassionate person who brought light into the lives of those around him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie Bland, as well as his sisters Cheryl and Barbara Lynn. Although his departure has left a void in the hearts of many, he is survived by his cousin Steve Bland, his niece Heather, his nephew Michael, and his devoted companion of 34 years, Deborah Bodell.

Throughout his life, David showed unwavering optimism and displayed tremendous courage and strength. He faced every obstacle with resilience and an unwavering spirit. David found immense joy in various hobbies such as golfing, baseball, music, and gardening. Whether he was teeing off on the green or tending to his vibrant flowers in the garden, David's enthusiasm was infectious.

In addition to his love for outdoor activities, David cherished moments spent playing cards with friends and casting lines while fishing. He had a natural gift for storytelling which never failed to bring smiles and laughter to those fortunate enough to listen. His tales would captivate the room and leave everyone wanting more.

David's warm personality drew people towards him naturally. He had an incredible ability to make others feel comfortable in their own skin. With him around every gathering became a memorable occasion filled with joy and camaraderie. From get togethers to casual outings with friends – everyone who crossed paths with David has their own treasured memories of him.

His generous heart touched the lives of many throughout the years, leaving an indelible mark on their souls. David shared kindness without judgment and provided support whenever it was needed most. His empathy shone through even in the simplest gestures.

As we bid farewell to David Michael Bland, we are reminded of the immeasurable impact he had on our lives and the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will forever be cherished by those who were privileged to have known him. Although saddened by his departure, we find solace in the knowledge that he no longer suffers and is at peace.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor the remarkable person David was. Friends, family, and loved ones will gather together to reminisce about the memories they shared with him and to find comfort in each other's presence. In these moments, the full depth of David's life will be recognized and celebrated.
