David Wesley Morgan

David Wesley Morgan, fondly known as “The Viking,” was born on November 9, 1958, at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital and peacefully departed this life on July 31, 2026, in the same beloved place. Cherished by his wife, Carrie Beth Morgan, and their family, David's presence graced the lives of his sons, Alex and Collin Morgan, his grandsons Reagan, Walker, and Leland Morgan, and his stepson, Cody Wilson. His father, Walter Morgan, and brother, John Morgan, along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends, will continue to hold him close in their hearts.

A secret member of Mensa and a dedicated scholar, David was proud to graduate with dual majors from the University of Michigan. After a successful career as a CFO, he devoted his later years to serving seniors as "Your Tax Guy," offering his expertise with kindness and generosity.

David's days began with prayer and devotion. His love for learning was evident in his daily crossword puzzles and trivia challenges. Known for his fondness for squirrels, he turned his front yard into a lively scene, sharing countless joyful moments with his wife.

An ardent supporter of U of M athletics, Lions football, and a quiet admirer of Winnie the Pooh, David enjoyed life's simple pleasures—from Diet Coke and cigars to electronics. His collection of cords was legendary, always ready to assist others. His constant attire of shorts and short sleeves reflected his unique style.

Time spent with family, especially his brother and father, brought laughter and cherished memories. Evenings holding hands with Carrie watching movies were a source of great peace and comfort.

Despite facing challenges, David found strength in his faith, always striving to express love and recognize one's worth. His legacy is one of warmth, wisdom, and a reminder of the importance of seeking help and relying on divine strength.

Rest in peace, Dave. Until we meet again at Gate 7 in heavenly glory.
