Diane Marie Chartrand (formerly Gardiner) age 61, of Orion Township and formerly a longtime resident of Eastpointe died Friday August 23, 2013 at Diane was born December 8, 1951 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late Warren Chartrand and the late Dorothy (nee: Mason ) Chartrand.
Diane was a member of the East Detroit Historical Society, the East Detroit Parent Teacher Organization, and the East Detroit Gang Task Force for many years. Diane was a person who cared deeply for her children and also her children's surroundings. She believed that a safe community and a culturally enriched community only enhanced families and children.
Diane is survived by her children, David (Elizabeth) Cantell and Heather (Dagan) Zimmerman. Diane was predeceased by her sister Denise Martin.
A Luncheon to celebrate Diane's life will be held Saturday 11:30 am, September 21, 2013 at Cross Lutheran Church, 3581 Utica Road in Clinton Township Michigan.
