Donald Henry Harrison

Donald Henry Harrison, age 88, passed away on October 27, 2025 in Shelby Township, Michigan.

Donald was born on May 18, 1937 to Vernon and Annie (nee Gale) Harrison in Detroit, Michigan. 

Donald grew up in Detroit, while spending summers at the family farm in Cass City. He married his beloved wife of 66 years, Joyce A. Harrison, in 1959 and raised their family together in Fraser, Michigan. Donald ran a Detroit Union 76 auto repair gas station with his father in law, Joseph Patterson, for many years before working as a grinder at A.W. Carbide in Fraser until his retirement.

Donald had a love for fishing, hunting, and camping; as well as woodworking and auto repair. He was known as a "fix it" guy. He even enjoyed quilting with his wife, Joyce. He belonged to the Slovene National Benefit Society and fed the homeless at the Salvation Army with New Life Presbyterian Church.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Annie Harrison; in-laws, Joseph and Molly Patterson; grandson, Ryan Sorrell; and his beloved dog, Lucky.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joyce; children, Linda (Fred) Sorrell, Joseph (Copper) Harrison, and Kathleen (Charles) Paul; grandchildren, Marlena Sorrell and Daniel Paul.
