Dorothy Ann Seagram

Oct 12, 1937 — Oct 27, 2026

St. Clair Shores, Michigan

Dorothy Ann "D’Ann" Seagram, 89, born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 12, 1937, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. D’Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Seagram. Together, they raised their five children in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. She is survived by D’Ann Storm, Jim Seagram (Valerie), Kristen Werenski (Ken), Leslie Vyletel (Marshall), and Jon Seagram (Denise); thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Known for her sunny disposition, warmth, and enthusiasm for life, D’Ann had a wonderful way of making those around her feel welcome. Always in good spirits and happy to see a familiar face, she approached life with optimism, energy, and a genuine love of people.

D’Ann believed in making the most of life rather than dwelling on its difficulties. She taught her children to face life’s inevitable ups and downs with resilience, perspective, and a positive attitude. “Pull up your bootstraps and get moving,” was the advice she gave, and lived by, when life got tough.

An avid tennis player and golfer, D’Ann loved the friendships and camaraderie that came with both sports. She continued playing tennis until the age of 80, often sharing the court with players decades her junior. Her enthusiasm and youthful spirit were evident in her enduring love of the game. She also appreciated the more glamorous side of life. D’Ann loved getting dressed up, entertaining, socializing with friends, and dancing with her husband, Jim. Never one to overlook the finishing touches, she frequently reminded her daughters to “put some lipstick on” before leaving the house.

Together, D’Ann and Jim enjoyed a wonderful social life filled with cherished friendships, laughter, and celebrations. She loved being surrounded by people and brought her cheerful spirit to every occasion.

D’Ann will be remembered for her unwavering optimism, her warmth toward others, and the example she set for her family: to embrace life, appreciate the good in every day, and face whatever comes with grace, determination and a little lipstick of course.
