Earl Ronald Alter

Earl "Ron" Alter, age 82 died Sunday December 18, 2016 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Earl Ronald Alter was born June 27, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Earl Fredrick Alter and the late Jane (nee: Holiday) Alter.

Ron was raised in Detroit and at an early age entered the military serving within the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Ron was stationed in Alaska and Europe during the war. Following his honorable discharge from the military Ron returned to Detroit and went to work with the machining and broach manufacturing industry. He eventually retired as a supervisor with National Broach.

When Ron was not working he was truly a family man who cherished his time surrounded by his family. Additionally Ron loved his time spent at Hasler Lake riding his golf cart visiting many friends over the years. When he was younger he was an avid bowler and loved the game of golf. He will be forever missed by his loving family and all his friends he has made over the years.

Ron was the beloved husband of 61 years to Patricia and was the loving father of Glenn (Barbara) Alter, Jane (Bob) Beadia, Cindy (Bill) Vought, Wayne Alter, and the late Pamela Alter. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
