Edward George Milke Sr.

March 9, 1939 — May 4, 2025

Clinton Township, Michigan

Edward G. Milke, aka Dad, Pa, Mo, Edster, Eddie, 86, of Clinton Township, Michigan; formerly of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home with family on May 4, 2025. He was love, tall, kind, gentle, and funny.

Ed will be deeply missed and remember for always cracking jokes and trying to make people smile and laugh. He loved his wife. He loved his family and was happiest when we were all together. Ed was up for almost anything, an adventurous soul. He enjoyed family parties, going to lake outings/picnic parties, "Milke Acres" and "Milo Farm", attending grandkids' sports games, Monopoly, playing with grandkids, ice cream and sweets, photography, casinos, card games with the boys, comedy - the classics: Lucille Ball, Laurel & Hardy, Steve Martin, Robin Williams; driving with some "bonus rides", classic cars, travelling, music/concerts, boats, the coastal vibe, coin collecting, animals/pelicans, horse racing, and nature's creatures and all its amazing colors - especially the blue and green hues. He was everything a man should be: kind, patient, humble, gentle, a coach, a handyman of all sorts, a safety net, encouraging, empathetic, fair and honest, appreciative, positive, had manners, understanding, loved life, and was a simple man. The kind of man that would help anyone without hesitation or question. Those of us who were lucky enough to know him, know he genuinely was one of the greatest men they will ever know.

Ed was born March 9, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. In the 1960s he was a young entrepreneur in his early 20s, opening his own photography studio in St. Clair Shores, Michigan called "Snap Shop". Later he worked at a carpet store and he worked for Point Dairy and Melody Farms, delivering milk, ice cream, and dairy products all over eastern-southeast Michigan for more than 25 years. He proudly worked for Ford Motor Company, Dearborn driving semi trucks and tractor trailers.

Ed is predeceased by his parents, Virginia and Walter Milke; siblings, Walter (Nancy) Milke, Jr. and Sandy (Bud) Snyder.

Ed is survived by his wife of 47 1/2 years, Laura; nine children, Beth (Randall) Michmerhuizen, Edward (Michelle) Milke Jr, Stacey (John) Skerske, Brandy Milke, Brad (Jennifer) Milke, Heather (Jeff) Milodrowski, Joe (Devon) Milke, Jason Hindt, Heidi (Virgil) Cummings; nine grandchildren and one great grandson: Ryan (Samantha) Milke, Alison (Josh) Budaj, Dominic Kolke, Bryce Finn, Breccan Milodrowski, Greyson Milodrowski, Leo Miller Milke, Hudson Miller Milke, Brayden Milke, and Luke Milke; his dog, Charlie; and six nieces and nephews.
