Nick, born August 5, 1948, in Washington, DC, was a cherished husband to Deanna for 35 years. A devoted stepfather to Adam Way and loving grandfather to Alyssa and Neil Way, Nick is also remembered by his brother Steve (Karen) Clough, sister Alinda, and beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vereda and Edwin Sr., and his brother, Stan.
An alumnus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, Nick held a bachelor's degree. He dedicated 30 years to the US Army Tank-Automotive Command in Warren, Michigan, serving as a Quality Specialist and Manager. His expertise was crucial to the Egyptian Co-Production Program and the US Army Abrams Tank Program. After retirement, he continued to contribute as a contractor for an additional five years.
Nick had a passion for adventure and traveled extensively with Deanna, exploring national wonders in America and historical landmarks worldwide. A lover of history, he treasured his collection of historical and biographical books and was a regular at the local library. He enjoyed sports, coin collecting, and southern rock music, amassing a large collection of albums, CDs, and tapes. Family gatherings in Michigan and reunions at the Outer Banks, North Carolina, were among his fondest memories. He valued time with his grandchildren, imparting lifelong values through his own example.
Nick's presence will be deeply missed and his memory cherished by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
