Frances Eleanor Marcoux, known affectionately as Frankie to many, passed away on May 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love. She graced this world with her presence on December 8, 1940, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, and departed from us in Clinton Township, Michigan.
She put her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Throughout her life, Frances dedicated over 30 years of service to the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt Clemens, with the majority of that time spent as an Emergency Room Unit Coordinator. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond the hospital walls as she volunteered her time with various charitable organizations starting with AmVets Post 29 in Mount Clemens, where she dedicated her work to United States Veterans along with Leader Dog for the Blind, former President of the Lioness Club, Cub Scouts, PTA, and many more. Frances also served on the Mt. Clemens Historical Commission board, leaving a lasting impact on her community and even contributed as a business owner of an antique store as she had a passion and a beautiful taste for antiques.
Frances graduated from Mt. Clemens High School and continued her learning journey at Macomb Community College. In her free time, she indulged in hobbies such as reading, computer games, cards, board games, crafting greeting cards, painting, coloring, camping adventures, and spending joyful moments with friends. Her love for dancing to big band, jazz, and Motown music brought joy to those around her.
Frankie's warm personality endeared her to many including family, friends and caregivers who were touched by her kindness.
Frances Eleanor Marcoux was preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Murphy-Deketelaere; husband Oliver Marcoux; parents Max and Eleanor Kendrick; sisters Patricia and Jean (Stan); ex-husband Gordon Murphy (Linda); along with numerous beloved cousins and friends.
She is survived by her loving children Mike Murphy (Sherri) and Erin Donahue (Thomas); grandchildren Patrick, Susan, Bianca, Anthony, and Jessie (Veon); great grand-grandchildren, Aaleighja, Sabrina. Amira, Kendell, Via, Aryia and Zoe. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews as she was a very loved Aunt.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Frances' life will be held on May 17th at Knox Presbyterian Church in Harrison Township, Michigan. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM followed by a 2:00 PM Worship Service to honor the memory of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many.
In our hearts forever cherished and dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace dear Frankie Marcoux.
