In Loving Memory of Gerald Mark Evans,

Gerald Mark Evans, affectionately known as Jerry, passed away on August 26th in Clinton Township, surrounded by his family. Born on February 7, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Jerry is reunited with his beloved parents, Matthew Evans and Mary Olive Nicklas, his dear wife Judith, and granddaughters Johonna and Jazmin.

Jerry's love for hockey began in his childhood, where he played with a passion that led his team to victory in the children's Detroit Hockey League minor leagues. A graduate of Demby High School in Detroit, Jerry formed lifelong friendships and married the love of his life, Judith, on September 23, 1978. Together, they cherished 27 wonderful years and raised two beautiful daughters.

His career as an electronics technician took him on travels across the country, showcasing his skill and dedication. Later, Jerry expanded his horizons by earning a real estate license and serving as a realtor.

Jerry had a lifelong enthusiasm for vintage cars, proudly recalling his first car, a "1965 Chevy Impala SS 350 droptop with air." His love for engines and speed extended to NASCAR and annual attendance at the APBA Gold Cup boat races, a tradition he enjoyed with friends and family.

A man with broad interests, Jerry immersed himself in historical research, classic cars, music, and shared time with loved ones, often playing favorite tunes on the record player. Despite facing physical challenges, Jerry's resilience inspired all who knew him, teaching them the true meaning of perseverance.

He leaves behind his daughters, Jamie (Kevin) Sinning and Jillian (Joe) Caramagno; grandchildren Jaya Evans and husband Mike, Dillon, Julia, Joseph, Jenna; and great-grandchildren Levi and Devin J. He will also be fondly remembered by his cousin Mark and the other love of his life, Mary Jane.

Jerry’s legacy of strength and determination continues to inspire, reminding us never to give up on our own challenges.
