Gregory Allen Clark, age 68, of Troy, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2025.
Born on July 8, 1957, in Detroit, Greg was the son of Marvin Clark and Joanne Schuman. He spent his life working with his hands, taking an important leadership role in his brother’s construction business and continuing to work up until the day of his passing. Greg’s true passion was his family. He and Jane were married for 46 years and his love and commitment to her shone through in everything he did. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Greg was a coach from the time his boys were young and was a presence at their baseball and basketball practices and games, always there to give encouragement (and the occasional shout!). His passion for youth sports continued as he attended nearly every sporting event for his grandchildren from soccer matches to baseball and softball games to wrestling matches and cross country meets.
Greg also loved hunting and bowling and spent many happy times with his Jacks & Jills bowling league and outdoors hunting in Prescott, Michigan. He held a passion for Detroit sports and music and was a longtime fan of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Greg was known throughout the community for his easy presence and welcoming nature. He made everyone around him feel comfortable and valued and no one was a stranger in his presence. They say dogs have a sixth sense for people, and every dog seemed to know Greg was one of the good ones.
Greg is survived by his wife, Jane Clark, sons Matthew and Gregory II (Colleen), grandchildren Ashley, Dominic, Marissa, Antonio, Sophia, Giavanna, Amelia, Evelyn, Henry, Lilly, siblings Tim Clark and Pam Link, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by Marvin Clark, Joanne Schuman, Robin Anderson, and Bernard and Margaret Engelman.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Saturday, January 3 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Luxury Lanes in Ferndale (600 E. Nine Mile Rd.). All are welcome to drop in and share a fond memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to support Jane as she faces this next step in her journey. https://gofund.me/f4058ae91
