Gregory Paul Meurer

Gregory Paul Meurer, a retired truck driver with a passion for exploring the open road and sharing his tales from his journeys, passed away on May 4, 2024, at the age of 73 in Clinton Township, Michigan. Born on August 14, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Greg was known for his love of dogs, with Shadow, Bella, and Tucker always by his side.

Gregory as a truck driver allowed him to indulge in his love for travel and storytelling. He had a knack for recounting his adventures on the road and never failed to captivate those around him with his humorous anecdotes. Greg's warm and generous nature endeared him to many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Aside from his career, Greg found joy in various hobbies and interests. Whether it was spending time fishing with his grandkids, hunting in the great outdoors, tinkering in his garage collecting tools, or listening to country music; and of course during baseball season, Greg could be found watching his beloved Detroit Tigers daily. Greg's zest for life was evident in all that he did. Above all else, he cherished moments spent with his beloved family.

Gregory Paul Meurer is survived by his wife Lisa Meurer, sister Janet Loihle, daughter Tracy Janicki (Brian), daughter Jill Meurer, grandchildren Devin Rowe (Samantha), Halie Schachinger, Brianna Cassidy, Aaron Cassidy; and great-granddaughter Malea Martin. He was preceded in death by his son Hunter Meurer and is also mourned by those who passed before him - his parents Paul Meurer and Florence Balicki, along with his sister Joanne.

A service to honor and remember Gregory's life will take place on May 10th at Clinton Grove Cemetery in Clinton Township. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Greg's presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten as he embarks on a new journey beyond our earthly bounds. May he rest in eternal peace.
