Harry James Cowells

January 10, 1947 — April 2, 2026

Saint Clair, Michigan

Harry James Cowells (Jim), of St. Clair, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2026, the same day he and his beloved wife, Barb, celebrated 60 years of marriage, a beautiful testament to a lifetime of love and devotion.

Jim was born on January 10, 1947, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to Harry and Helen Cowells, who preceded him in death.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and servant of God. He was the proud father of Jim Cowells (Beth) and Jennifer Smith (Brian), and a cherished grandfather to four beautiful granddaughters: Ava, Erin, Evie, and Lily, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Jim is survived by his brothers, Robert and Mark, and was preceded in death by his brother Paul. He held a deep love for his family and treasured those relationships throughout his life.

Jim faithfully served as an ordained Southern Baptist minister for over 30 years. His life reflected a deep love for Jesus Christ and a steadfast dedication to serving others. Through his ministry, his kindness, and his quiet strength, he touched countless lives and leaves behind a lasting legacy of faith, compassion, and guidance.

Jim will be remembered for his gentle spirit, strong faith, and the deep love he showed to his family and community. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace in the presence of his Savior.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church of St. Clair, 1600 Vine Street, St. Clair, MI 48079.
