Harvey James Williams

Harvey James Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on April 23, 1934, Harvey dedicated his life to his family, faith, and community, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

As an accomplished Electrical Engineer, Harvey played a pivotal role in designing components for the M1 Abram Tank, demonstrating his ingenuity and commitment to his profession. His work was not just a job; it was a passion that reflected his deep-seated values of service and excellence.

Harvey was a devoted member of St. Ronalds Catholic Church, where he also contributed his time and skills to the St. Ronalds Men’s Club and the United Auto Workers (UAW). His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through his many roles and inspiring those around him to embrace kindness and compassion.

In addition to his professional and community endeavors, Harvey was known as everyone’s favorite handyman. Whether fixing a neighbor's leaky faucet or crafting beautiful stained glass creations, he embodied a spirit of generosity and mastery. His hobbies included fishing and golfing, activities that he enjoyed wholeheartedly, allowing him to connect with friends and family in the great outdoors.

Harvey's generous spirit extended to his dedicated volunteer work. He served the community for ten years by delivering Meals on Wheels alongside his beloved wife, Delphine, embodying their shared commitment to helping others. Their love for travel took them across the United States and to over 15 countries, creating memories and bonds that will last beyond his years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Delphine Marie (Peters), whom he married on June 24, 1954. Together they nurtured a family filled with love and laughter. Harvey is also survived by his children: Janelle Marie Williams (Michael Wilczynski), Judy Kay Williams, Jerome Keith (Nancy) Williams, and John Andrew (Holly) Williams. As a grandfather, affectionately known as "Bumpa," he delighted in his grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Christa, Lisa, Lynnette, David, Eric, Daniel, Stephanie, Brandon, and Natalie. Furthermore, he was a proud great-grandfather of 15 and a great-great-grandfather of 2.

Harvey is also survived by his brother, Louis (Skip) Williams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edgar Williams, who also holds a special place in the hearts of those who remember him.

Harvey's greatest love in life was his faith, his wife, and his family. His warm spirit, unwavering faith, and commitment to his loved ones will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered. As we celebrate his remarkable life, we honor the kindness and love that he shared so freely with all.
