Henry William Zelasko Jr.

Henry W. Zelasko Jr., age 80, passed away on October 10, 2026. Born in Germany, Henry made his home in the Metro Detroit area for most of his life.

Pops, Daddy-O, Henry, Hank, or Butch—however you knew him, he was a simple man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a man of many quiet passions, always happiest when engaged in a good game of chess, tinkering with electronics, or woodworking birdhouses for his yard. A true music enthusiast, his collection once spanned over 2,000 vinyl LP records. Henry also held a gentle, warm heart for all animals, carrying a special affection for Dachshunds and the backyard squirrels he loved to watch.

He is the beloved father of Susan, Kimberly, Kurt, Katie, and Lucas, and is survived by many cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Renell (Fred) and Maria Lena (Paul); his sister-in-law, Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry W. Zelasko Sr.; his mother, Anni Mispagel Zelasko; and his brother, Richard A. Zelasko.

Interment and burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
