It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of James (Ted) Bommarito on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Ted was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Serafina, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on February 19, 2026. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family—values he carried with him every day.
He was a proud and loving father to his four children: Christine (Pat), Theresa, Nick, and Helen (Dale). His greatest joy was his family. That love only grew as he became a cherished grandfather—"Grandpa" and "Papa"—to his eight grandchildren: Sara (Mike), James (Cori), Donald, Jennifer (fiancée Antonio), Alison, Johnathan, Daniel (Zac) and Patrick. Each of them held a special place in his heart
A hardworking and dedicated man, Ted served his country in the United States Army. He later spent 30 years as a U.S. Postal worker and had a 25-year career as a real estate agent. Through it all, he was a steadfast provider who took great pride in caring for his family. He was a man of strong Catholic faith, which guided his life and gave him strength, purpose, and compassion.
In his younger years, Ted enjoyed playing softball, a pastime that reflected his energetic and spirited nature. He frequently shared that ‘he had 10 trophies’! He also appreciated the simple pleasures in life - especially a cold Bud Light and time spent surrounded by family and friends.
Ted will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of laughter. He was a true prankster, always ready with a joke—and no one laughed harder at his jokes than he did. His laughter was contagious, and his lighthearted spirit brought joy to everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Bommarito; his sister Mary Derkacz (the late Stanley) and Richard Bommarito.
Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and a man who lived his life with heart, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
