James Albert Fulton, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2026, at his home in Roseville, Michigan. He was born on December 8, 1963, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Patricia Fulton (Grove). In 1966, his family relocated to Michigan, where Jim spent the remainder of his life.

Jim was a graduate of Lawton High School in Lawton, Michigan, and dedicated his working life to carpentry. A highly skilled craftsman, he took great pride in his work and was known for his talent and attention to detail.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jim was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved, Deborah Person, whose companionship brought him great happiness.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Van Ostran (Grove); stepmother, Mary Fulton; uncle, Jack Fulton; aunt, Corrine Fulton; cousins Jack, Mark, and Brett Fulton; stepbrother Jeff Ainsworth; step-brother-in-law Dave Salik; and nephew Quinn Robinson.

He is survived by his father, Robert Fulton; sister Jackie (Matt) McKeon; step-siblings Deb (Dean) Wintjen, Sue (Brian) Robinson, and Ted (Sarah) Ainsworth; and step-sister-in-law Nan Ainsworth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Jessica (Paul) Knoepke, Stephen (Janaya) McKeon, Sarah (Sam Perry), Katie (Josh) Ruihley, Brook Ainsworth, Aaron (Lisa) Ainsworth, Lauren (Luke) Olmstead, and Taylor Robinson, along with 21 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A private family gathering to honor Jim’s life will be held at a later time.
