James Lynn Garrison

James L Garrison, born in Greenbrier, AR on Sept 7, 1941 passed peacefully at home in Warren, MI on Nov 28, 2025.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Garrison, nee Kurt; children, Donald James Garrison and Loretta Lynn Garrison; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Celia Lou Sowell, Betty Sue Hale, JoLeta (Larry) Jines; brothers, Carl Garrison, Larry (Betty) Garrison; sister-in-law, Ruby Garrison; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Alice Garrison ; brother, Linus Garrison; in-laws, Jimmy Sowell, Herschel Hale, Beverly Garrison, and W.E. Langston.

Jim graduated in 1959 from Beebe High School, AR and joined the National Guard. After his service, he moved to Midland, MI and worked at the Continental Can Co.

Jim had many interests throughout his life. He loved all kinds of sports and was involved with different sports in varying ways at various times in his life. He was a huge fan of country music, loved riding motorcycles, and tried to never miss watching Nascar racing, whether at the track or on TV. Jim especially enjoyed RV living and the snow-bird lifestyle during the last 25 years of his life, primarily spending time in AZ.

Jim loved being with family and friends and will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and caring. His fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends from all over the United States and Canada.

According to Jim’s wishes, he is being cremated. Private family gatherings will be held at a later date.
