Jane Elizabeth Serra

June 8, 1953 — April 23, 2023

Jane Elizabeth (Trombley) Serra, age 69 of Harrison Township, MI passed away

Sunday, April 23, 2023 at her home after a 2½ year battle with liver cancer. Jane

was born June 8, 1953 in Detroit, MI, daughter of Joseph and Kathleen (nee: Klepac)

Trombley.

A loving daughter, sister and friend, Jane leaves us far too soon, but not without

imparting the best of herself in the hearts and souls of her many loved ones and

friends. Healing is found in knowing that her suffering has been swallowed up in

love and she rests safely in the arms of God, along with her parents, Joe and

Kathleen.

Jane was most proud of, and dedicated her life to, a career in Nursing where she

treated each patient as a whole person and not just the disease they might be

dealing with. Jane retired in 2018 from the Detroit Medical Center where she had

elevated her Nursing career status to Educator for (ACC) Adult Central Campus of

the DMC and served as Interim Manager of the Detroit Receiving Hospital OR. Jane

received the G.E.M. (Going the Extra Mile) award, as well as the Tenet Heroes

Award, and was aptly named DMC Employee of the Year in 2014.

Jane was the beloved sister of Mark Trombley (Linda Whittle), Gayle (Tom) Boles,

and Echo (John) Hunt, as well as the loving aunt of Jessica (Jeff) Marco, Robert

(Chelsie) Boles, Misti and Ben Trombley, Blaine (Kasia) Hunt, Cameron (Charline)

Hunt, Kathleen Hunt and Clay (Alexandra) Hunt. Jane took great delight in her many

grandnieces and grandnephews, sharing with them her love of the water, cats,

birds, rocks and all of nature in general.

A Celebration of Life for Jane will be held Saturday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the

Day Sail area of Lake Saint Clair Metro Park, 31300 Metro Parkway in Harrison

Township, MI 48045.
