Janet Evelyn Boyle, affectionately known as Jan, passed away on May 4, 2024, in Clinton Township, Michigan. She was born on January 21, 1948, in Trenton, Michigan.
Jan dedicated the majority of her working life to education, teaching at various public and private schools across different levels. Her career included stints at Trenton High School, Gaylord St. Mary’s High and Elementary School, and King’s Fork Middle School where she eventually retired in 2010. Jan's passion for teaching touched the lives of many students and colleagues throughout her tenure.
An alumna of Ecorse High School, Jan furthered her education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University with a minor in English Language and Literature/Psychology. Her commitment to learning and nurturing young minds was evident in her unwavering dedication to her profession.
Beyond her career, Jan's vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Known for her big heart and incredible sense of humor, she effortlessly made friends wherever she went. Her infectious laughter and amusing anecdotes brightened the lives of those around her.
In her youth, Jan embraced adventure wholeheartedly. A bit of a rebel at heart, she enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, indulging in skiing trips, camping escapades, and exploring different destinations through travel. An avid reader and music enthusiast, Jan had a special affinity for animals, especially dogs. Her love for canines was unparalleled as she never encountered a dog she couldn't befriend or vice versa.
Among Jan's proudest accomplishments was her role as a devoted mother to her children. Acting as both mother and father figure during their formative years, she selflessly ensured that her children always had everything they needed while sprinkling joy along life's journey.
Jan leaves behind cherished memories with surviving family members including siblings Tim (Denise) Baier and Rosalee (Larry) Renaud; children Nicholas (Melanie) Boyle and Heather (Chris) Alsip; grandchildren Keegan, David, and Conner; alongside numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Janet Evelyn Boyle's legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering love will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with an exceptional individual like her. May she rest in eternal peace.
