Jeffery Lynn Turner

October 14, 1950 — April 17, 2024

Sterling Heights, Michigan

Jeffery Lynn Turner, age 73 of Sterling Heights, passed away on Wednesday, April 17th 2024, taken prematurely due to the terrible disease of Alzheimer's dementia. Jeff was a beloved husband to his late wife, Wendy Quick; devoted and proud father of Erin Turner and Kelly Kovach; and loving grandfather of Jasmine and Willow.

Jeff was best known for his passion, loyalty, humor and story-telling. Jeff was a proud American, serving his country for over 40 years as both an Army soldier (serving in both Vietnam and Army Reserves) along with the Department of Defense (DoD) as a civilian. He was presented with various military and DoD honors throughout his career, to include Purple Hearts for being wounded.

He served his family just as passionately.

Jeff and Wendy loved adventure and traveled to places like England, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Canada and Mexico. They also enjoyed a nice cruise here and there. He took his daughters around the U.S. and Canada, giving them the opportunity to experience new places.

He also enjoyed both listening and playing music. He had an eclectic taste from rock 'n roll to classical. He sported his self-taught music skills at his local church, playing guitar in the church band every Sunday. His faith was an important part of his life. Jeff never missed an opportunity to take a ride on his motorcycle on a sunny day, given he could make pitstops at this favorite coffee spot, Tim Horton's along the way.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Jeffery will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan with military honors present.
