Jill Suzanne Butterfield, a beloved daughter, sister, and mother, passed away on January 25, 2025, in Troy, Michigan, at the age of 71. Born on October 12, 1953, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Jill's early life was spent in Clawson, before moving to Madison Heights, and ultimately settling in Sterling Heights.
Jill's personality illuminated the lives of all who knew her. She loved talking with her friends and family, always ready to lend an ear or provide thoughtful advice. Her fiery spirit and enormous heart were traits that endeared her to many, making her presence a cherished gift to those around her.
Throughout her life, Jill demonstrated a deep passion for animals and found joy in being active in her church community. She was an avid traveler, with a particular fondness for the vibrancy of New York City. Laughter was a constant sound in her life, reflecting her joyful nature. Jill also engaged in numerous hobbies, including shopping, sewing, crafting, and gardening, each of which brought her immense pleasure and fulfillment.
Jill's proudest accomplishments were her twin daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, whom she regarded as her “most prized possessions.” Her unwavering love for them was evident in the way she showed her affection every second of every day, instilling values and traditions that will surely carry on in their lives.
Jill is preceded in death by her parents, Gillis and Erma Garvin along with her brother, Thomas Garvin.
A memorial service honoring Jill's life will be held on February 6, 2025, at Spirit of Christ Lutheran Church in Clawson, Michigan beginning at 1 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate the vibrant spirit and unforgettable legacy of Jill Suzanne Butterfield.
