John Joseph Winarski Jr.

John Joseph Winarski Jr., age 88, a longtime resident of Fraser, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on October 22, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.

Born on July 22, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan John was the loving husband of Sheila Winarski for the last 59 years. He was the cherished father of John (Kimberly) Winarski and best papa to grandchildren, Jack, Ava, and Emerson Winarski. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. John is survived by his brother, Thomas (Dottie) Winiarski, and several nieces and nephews.

John proudly owned and operated Fraser Jewelers before closing the storefront in 2007. He continued working for several more years out of his home before fully retiring. He was well known for his expertise in jewelry, engraving, watch, and clock repair.

John was happiest sitting on the sidelines, watching his grandchildren play their sports—nobody had a bigger smile. He also loved spending time outdoors in the warm weather with Sheila sitting in the sun, getting his “radiation.”

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.
