Judith A. Grewette, age 74, of Chesterfield, was reunited with her Maker on June 29, 2023. Judy was the 7th of sixteen children born to George and Helen Schafer in Roseville, Michigan. She received her Catholic education from Sacred Heart school. She married her husband, Tom, in 1971, and then started their family.
Judith was a caregiver for 25 years with the mentally challenged. Her faith was important to her. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church and sacrificed all of her finances to pay for her children’s Catholic education. Family meant everything to her. She cherished her Sunday family dinners where everyone would gather around her kitchen table for prayer, conversation, and being together. Her favorite vacations were countless overnight trips to Frankenmuth, so she could watch her grandchildren have fun. Judy also loved music! Her love for music will always be remembered whenever we hear a polka or Daniel O’Donnell.
Beloved mother of Carrie, Lori, Amy, Amanda (Dallas) Stier, Tom, and Emily (Jasmin) Balicevac. Dear grandmother of Sofia, Max, Grace, Jack, Gemma, Gabriel, Martin, Selma and Aydin. Dear sister of Jimmy, Joannie, Mary, Danny, David, Karen, Tommy, Patty, and Susie. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Tom. She was also predeceased by her siblings George, Joe, John, Margie, Jerry, and Jeannie.
The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice and her siblings for all of their time, love, care, and assistance with Judy in her final days.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at Saint Mary’s Church in New Baltimore, on July 28, 2023, at 10:30 AM.
