Keith Thomas Hawkins

With deep love, we announce the passing of Keith Thomas Hawkins, a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather, who passed away on June 15, 2026 at the age of 79.

Keith was born on March 27, 1947 in Detroit to Thomas and Lillian Hawkins.

He graduated from Denby high school in 1965. Shortly after he was drafted and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1967-1972 as a Communications Technician based in Nags Head, Virginia. While there he met Jeanne whom he married in May 1970 and relocated back to Detroit. From there he began his 36-year career at General Motors as a senior manufacturing engineer until his retirement in 2002.

Keith was a man of many talents and passions. He loved to be outdoors and travel to explore the natural beauty of the world. Whether it was the countless cruises, winters down south or a motorcycle ride along a windy road he was up for the adventure. His enthusiasm along the journey was infectious and friends and family were always along for the ride.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Hawkins, sister Kathy Barsickow, two children Jennifer (Craig) Stafford, Shawn (Cara) Hawkins and his beloved grandchildren Kaitlyn, Jacqueline, Connor, Emily, Brendan and Megan. Keith’s memory will live on through his family, whose lives have been enriched by his unwavering love and support.
