Lawrence E. Drude (Larry), 78, of St. Clair Shores, MI, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on February 25th, 1947, in Detroit, MI, to Virginia and Edwin Drude. He married his wife of 57 years Kathleen Mallett on February 24th 1968. They raised 5 children together. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, one of them in Vietnam. Larry received his BA in applied behavioral science and Master's Degree in Human Resources and Development. He worked for 31 years as a communication technician for AT&T. He was known for his love of cats and dogs, fishing in Lake St. Clair and the Florida Keys, watching University of Georgia and Detroit Lions football along with Detroit Red Wings games. However, he most enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Larry is preceded in death by his father Edwin Drude, mother Virginia Riess, and aunt Matilda Schmidt.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Drude, daughters Kimberly (Timothy) Lubinski, Angela (Sean) MacFarlane, Jessica (Tony Hobbs) Drude, sons Edwin (Lisa) Drude, and Michael (Lauren) Drude. He cherished his 11 grandchildren: Samantha Lubinski, Kyle Lubinski, Kristen Lubinski, Justin Drude, Brandon Drude, Christopher Drude, Matthew Drude, Robert St. Clair, Zachary MacFarlane, Jonathan Garcia, and Izabella Hobbs and also his two great grandchildren, Carter Doyle and Dominic Doyle.

In addition to his immediate family, Larry is survived by his brother Norman (Meiyu Liu) Drude and Dianne (the late Robert) McCaughan.

During all his many trials and journeys, his faith in God and hope in Jesus carried him through.
