Lois Imelda Damm age 85 died Saturday December 15, 2012 at her home in Harrison Township surrounded by her family. Lois was born August 21, 1927 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late Wilfred Barry and the late Hazel (nee: Salvo) Barry.
Mrs. Damm was raised in Detroit and graduated from Denby High School. Following high school she continued her studies in nursing becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Damm would apply her knowledge during her career as a nurse for Saratoga Hospital for over 20 years.
When Mrs. Damm was not working her family was the center of her world. Along with raising her children she also was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband also loved boating and socializing. Mrs. Damm also enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and playing cards with friends, along with being active with her fraternal organizations⦠She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Lodell Elks Lodge, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Mrs. Damm was the loving wife of the late Rodney F. Damm, and is the cherished mother of Rodney D. (Corinne) Damm, Sharon (Mike) Kilpatrick, and Jeffrey (Marci) Damm. She is also the dear grandmother of Bridget Damm, Rodney A. Damm, Kelly Birchfield, Jason Schultz, Timothy (Shannon) Schultz, Matthew (Jennifer) Schultz, Dawn Bazarewski, Brett Kilpatrick, Mark Kilpatrick, Ryan Damm, Amanda Browning, the late Dustin Damm, and dearest great-grandmother of Corey, Cassandra, Anthony, Viviana, Austin, Elijah, Braydon, Kaylee, Benjamin, Emily, Elizabeth, Antoni, Hope, Ava, and Kyla. Mrs. Damm is further survived by her siblings, Stewart (Sofie) Barry, Mae Nesbitt, Adelaide Fitzgerald, and the late Orville Barry.
A Memorial Mass will be held 10am Wednesday December 19th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica. The family will receive guest from 9am until the time of the Liturgy. Celebrating the Funeral Mass will be Rev. Fr. Jerry Kessel.
