Louis Len Turner Jr., a man who lived life to the fullest, passed away surrounded by the immense love of his family on May 26, 2023.
Born on March 24, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, Louis “Louie” was the son of Mary Ann and Louis Turner. He married his loving wife Susan on March 28, 1982, beginning a journey that spanned over four decades. Louie cherished Susan more than anything else in the world and often referred to her as his best friend.
Louie was an exceptional father to his five children: Louis Len III, Jennifer, Heather (Steven), Josh (Elyse), and Chad (Hannah). His family meant everything to him. Nothing brought him greater joy than being immersed in the hustle and bustle of daily life with those he loved most.
Louie took great pride in being a grandfather. His love for Krymson (Louis Len III), Shane (Jennifer), Kaleb and Jack (Heather), Henry and Wyatt (Josh), and Grace (Chad) was infinite and unconditional. Watching them grow up gave him such happiness.
Music was a significant part of Louie’s life. Any chance he got, he would put on his favorite tunes and let loose with his signature dance moves that had everyone around him joining in. Louie never said no to hosting parties or gatherings, he loved the camaraderie of getting together with family and friends to share memories and laughs.
Louie will be remembered by all who crossed paths with him for doing things “the Louie way.” He never hesitated to show his undenied emotions publicly. No matter how much time had passed or how far you may have been from him geographically – once you entered into Louie’s orbit – you were considered family.
A celebration of Louie's remarkable life will be planned soon, where all who had the great privilege of being part of his life are invited to join. If you so choose, memorial donations can be made to the Native American Rights Fund or the American Liver Foundation in Louie's name.
Louie will always be missed, but his spirit will live on in the countless memories he created, and the lives he touched so deeply.
