Lucille Rae Smith, age 76, of Columbus, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on March 29, 2026. Born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, on January 2, 1950, to William and Mary Lou Morgan, Lucille’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion to family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband, Ivan Dave Smith; her cherished son, Ivan (David) Smith Jr.; her beloved grandson, Frank (Frankie) Mazzone; her brothers, Larry Morgan and William Morgan; and her sisters, Kathleen Clark and Mary Lou (Booboo) Morgan.

Lucille is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Jonene Marie Smith and Carrie Ann Smith-Logie (Kevin Logie); her lifelong partner, Duane Anders; her sisters, Tina McBride and Nancy Mikulin; her brothers, Joseph Morgan, Gerald Morgan, John Paul Morgan, and George Morgan; and her faithful companion dog, Remie. She also leaves behind many grandchildren—Mike (Mikie) Sojo Jr., Antonio (Tony) Sojo, Ila Sojo, Michael Mazzone, Annber Smith, Ashley Smith, and Ariana Smith—along with numerous treasured great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Lucille enjoyed a fulfilling career as a sewing machine mechanic at Fair Haven Industries—a profession she loved and took great pride in. At home, she delighted in needlepoint, puzzles, and creating blankets for her family. An avid gamer, Lucille enjoyed spending leisure time playing games on Facebook. She found simple joy in activities such as cutting her grass on her riding lawnmower and cherished fond memories of country rides to Lexington Beach with friends—stories she loved sharing.

Lucille’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with family and hobbies. She was a beacon of strength and love, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support during this difficult time.

Lucille Rae Smith will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
