Warnecke, Marilyn of Macomb Township, Michgan
Marilyn Joan (nee: Drehmer) Warnecke was born in Detroit, MI, June 18, 1941, to Vernon & Marion Drehmer and passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2021 with her partner of 47 years, Judy G. Bennett, by her side. Loving Mother of Kim Warnecke, Debi (Florin) Hreniuc, Timothy (Betty) Warnecke, and beloved sister of Karen (Al) Drehmer Villegas, Marilyn is survived by grandchildren Dennis, Gina, Chaz, Austin, Blake, Carlee, and great grandchildren Dennis, Jayden, and Megan. Marilyn was greatly loved by her extended family Mary Lou (Ronald) McGillivray, Sally (Donald) Stein, Douglas (Carol) Bennett, and by Patricia and Albert Bennett (deceased). Numerous nieces and nephews include Brian, Darcie, Russell, Stephanie (Chad), Heather (Ronald), Donald, Camille (Timothy), Douglas, and Alicia (Nicholas), Cousins Judy and Jackie.
Developing her leadership skills while attending the Graduate School Retail Bank Management program, she worked for 25 years at Michigan National Bank where she retired as Assistant Vice-President. A very kind and caring person, Marilyn found great enjoyment in babysitting for her grandchildren. Adventurous and always curious, she traveled throughout the U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe with an ability to read any map and devise a route on the fly with great accuracy. She loved to cook and share recipes, and she took great pleasure in being a "snowbird" in Hollywood, FL for 19 years. A master at playing Dominoes, Marilyn loved teaching others the game and enjoyed music, dancing and singing. Her million-dollar smile was inspiration to many.
Services for Marilyn will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 19310 E. 14 Mile Road, Roseville, MI 48066. Memorial Visitation beginning 1:00pm, with Memorial Services at 2:00pm.
