Mary Agnes Moleski

June 11, 1936 — September 28, 2025

Macomb, Michigan

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Moleski, 89, Loving Mother, Grandmother, and One-of-a-Kind Spirit.

Mary Moleski, 89, passed away peacefully on September 28th, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Detroit to William and Agnes Craig, Mary was the eldest of three sisters and was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marguerite (Craig) Gregg and Michaeleen (Craig) Hurley; and her beloved husband of 51 years and love of her life, John Moleski. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Joseph Molesky, Jack Gregg, John Hurley, sister-in-law, Marcia (Sattler) Molesky and her nephew, John Patrick.

Together, Mary and John built their home in Fraser, where she spent 27 years devoted to raising their children. In the years that followed, she lovingly cared for John as he battled Lewy Body Dementia, remaining by his side with unwavering dedication until his passing.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind five children whom she raised with devotion and a touch of her trademark sass: Michelle (Moleski) Vanpool and her late former husband, Brad; Gregory Moleski; Sharon (Moleski) Monbleau and husband, Gregg; Robert Moleski and wife, Michele Boldrin; and Edward Moleski and wife, Amy.

She was the proud grandmother of eight: Michael Vanpool and partner Jason Leedy; Lauren Vanpool and husband, Tyler Cobbs; Tyler Monbleau and wife, Brianna Jaczynski; Payton Monbleau and wife, Carleigh; Logan Monbleau and wife, Abigail; Madison Moleski; Ethan Moleski; and Meaghan Moleski. Mary also delighted in her great-grandson, Heath Cobbs, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of two future great-granddaughters, Emilia Monbleau and Clover Cobbs.

She also leaves behind her cousin, William Ribbing and ten beloved nieces and nephews—Valerie, Cathie, Scott, AnnMarie, Tim, Kate, Ann, Laura, Mary, and Barbara—each of whom held a special place in her heart.

A devout Catholic her entire life, Mary expressed her faith through a deep devotion to prayer, the sacraments, and attending Mass daily. Her commitment to these practices was the heart of her spiritual life and a reflection of her unwavering devotion.

Mary lived life with flair and a playful edge. A devoted fan of Neil Diamond, musicals, and her favorite soap operas, she never missed an episode of Dancing with the Stars. She loved traveling with John—especially their trips to Toronto, Hawaii and two memorable journeys to Europe—and enjoyed friendly competition through bowling and golf. Over the years, she formed many cherished friendships and created countless joyful memories with those she held dear. Known for her sharp mind, Mary excelled at card games such as pinochle, bridge, war, and poker, as well as puzzles and game shows, where she consistently amazed family and friends with her quick answers. Mary loved looking her best, faithfully keeping up with her nails and hair, and she never shied away from sharing her opinions. She was strong-willed, quick-witted, and never content to be remembered as a “sweet old lady.” Instead, she preferred to keep everyone wondering what she’d do next.

Mary was, in her own words, “a handful,” and that’s exactly how she wanted it. Her wit, spice, humor, and unforgettable presence will be remembered by all who knew her.

A Mass Service for Mary will be held at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 12311 Nineteen Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48313 on Friday, October 10th, 2025 at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial tributes be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. https://www.lbda.org/.
