Patricia Ann Lutz

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia A. Lutz, who passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, on her own, in a sunlit room, surrounded by handmade decorations from her family and a vibrant hand-made blanket donated by the hospice staff who cared dearly for her.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend. She was the beloved wife of Ned Lutz and the loving mother of Stacey Dalton (Steve). She was a cherished grandmother to Liam and Lydia Dalton, who brought tremendous joy to her life.

Patricia was a warm, friendly, kind, and generous person who made people feel welcome wherever she went. She loved planting flowers, feeding the birds, and cooking for her family. She found joy in the simple things and took great pleasure in caring for the people—and even the animals—she loved. Her three granddogs could always count on Grammy to have treats waiting for them.

Patricia dedicated 34 years to teaching elementary school, touching the lives of countless children and families. She brought the same patience, warmth, and kindness to her students that she brought to her own family.

After retiring, Patricia enjoyed traveling with her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. She treasured the experiences they shared and the memories they created together. She was also someone who deeply valued friendship. She maintained friendships that began in childhood and college, some lasting throughout her entire life. At the same time, she had a remarkable ability to make new friends wherever she went.

She is survived by her husband, Ned Lutz; daughter, Stacey Dalton (Steve); grandchildren, Liam and Lydia Dalton; sister, Barb Aude (Bernie); brothers, Tom Waterman (Louise) and Matt Waterman (Linda); and half-sister, Rosemary Gross (Bernie), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Lawrence Waterman; her brother, Mike Waterman; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Waterman.

Though her final weeks were difficult, she faced them with remarkable strength, courage and a calm acceptance of reality. We are grateful for every moment we were given with her and especially grateful that she was surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Her absence will leave an immeasurable space in our lives. We will miss her voice, her presence, her smile, her laughter, and all of the little things that made her uniquely herself. But we will carry her with us—in the memories she gave us, in the lessons she taught us, and in the love she poured into our family.

She is now at peace, free from pain and suffering.

Rest peacefully, Pat. You were so deeply loved. 💜
