Pauline Jane Vassallo (nee: Bugeja) passed away on January 21, 2023 at the age of 80.
She was born on March 19, 1942 to the late Joseph and Maria Carmela (nee: D'Anastasi) Bugeja on the island of Malta. Pauline moved to Toronto on her own at the age of 16. She met the love of her life, Joe, and they were married when she was 18. After their daughters were born, they moved to St. Clair Shores. Many years later they moved to Clinton Township.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Maria Carmela, along with with her siblings Charles Bugeja, Emanuel Bugeja, Publius Bugeja and Maria Lewis.
She was a loving mother and beloved wife and is survived by her husband, Joseph and their children, Carmen (Keith) Dusina and Sandra (Mark) Burns.
She was the proud grandmother of Mark (Lais) Burns, Vincent Dusina, Daniel (Mary Ellen) Dusina, Angela (fiancé Sam) Dusina and Natalie Dusina. Pauline is survived by siblings Joseph Bugeja, Doris Stafrace, Alfred Bugeja, Crocy Vella Clark and sisters-in-law Mary Pace and Mae Bugeja. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Pauline was a cherished woman who will be missed by her family and many friends.
When Pauline wasn't with her family, she typically was outside enjoying a nice long walk or visiting friends at the Clinton Township Senior Center where she was a member and a frequent volunteer.
A funeral mass will be held January 28, 2023 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Visitation begins at 10:30 am followed by mass at 11:00 am. The inurnment will take place immediately following at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery 43755 Elizabeth Road Clinton Township, Michigan. A celebration of life luncheon will be held at the Father Welch Parish Hall located within the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pauline's honor to St. Jude's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee or to the Alzheimer's Association of Michigan.
