Robert (Bob) Alidor Logghe, of Mt. Clemens, MI, passed away on March 16, 2025, after a courageous fight against cancer. Bob was born on June 15, 1941, to Gustave and Madeline Logghe, two parents he adored.
Bob is survived by his “rock” and life partner, Debbie Richards. They shared over 41 wonderful years together. Bob and Debbie were partners not only in life but also in their work at Ellis Richards Motors, where Bob worked for over 60 years. Bob loved working at Ellis Richards and went to work just five days before his death.
Bob is also survived by his children, Linda Calkins (Dave) and Michael Logghe (Janet), both of Brighton, MI. Bob could not have been prouder or loved his children more than he did. It is estimated that there are currently 1.5 billion fathers in the world—Linda and Michael were lucky enough to have the best one of them all!
Bob is also survived by his grandchildren, Jake and Dayna Calkins, Matthew Logghe (Clare) and Courtney Smotherman (Brenden), and great-grandchildren, Hadley, Ella, Lucy, and Aiden, all of whom he adored. Bob died one week to the day of his little brother, Michael (Joan), of Clinton Township, MI. Their bond was strong, and they deeply cared for and loved each other as they fought cancer together. Bob’s sister, Diane Holmes, survives, as do many nieces and nephews.
Bob loved his “crew” at Ellis Richards Motors. The friendships and bonds he made over a 60-year career are impossible to describe. Bob was a member of the Belvidere Boat Club and loved taking his pontoon to the island for friendships, fun, and lots of hard partying! Bob worked hard but partied harder and was usually the life of the party.
Bob loved his dogs and had many. Sammy was his special dog, blind and diabetic, who he doted on.
Bob loved life on the water, as did his next-door neighbors, John and Val DeVos, and they shared many good times together. Bob had so many friends that it was impossible to list them all, but he loved them dearly.
Bob was one of a kind. Lived hard, worked hard, played harder. To say he will be missed is a statement of unmanageable magnitude!
Bob will be interred at Sacred Heart Cemetery on May 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Contributions for Bob can be made to the Penrickton Center for Blind Children at Penrickton.org
