Roberta Maxine Link

April 14, 1943 — June 16, 2025

Memphis, Michigan

Roberta Maxine Link, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in Richmond, Michigan. Born on April 14, 1943, in Funkstown, Maryland, Roberta was a beloved figure whose life was marked by her keen sense of responsibility and care for those around her.

Roberta graduated from Boonsboro Senior High School in the class of 1961. Following her high school years, she lived in Fairplay, Maryland before moving to Swartz Creek, Michigan, where she would eventually carry out her successful career. She thrived in her role as a manager at multiple mobile housing communities, demonstrating dedication and leadership that earned her the respect of colleagues and residents alike.

Though she had a hard shell exterior, Roberta was known for her heart of gold. She consistently extended her compassion and love towards her family, which included many nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply. She embraced those around her and became a nurturing figure to many, adopting numerous individuals along her journey, and effectively becoming a matriarch without bearing children of her own.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Max Frederick Wolfe and Pearl (Lashley) Wolfe, her siblings: Lillian, Margaret, Rose, Robert, Doris, Lillie, Kathryn, Nancy, Donna, Barbara, and Gene, and  her nephew, Thomas Leonard. Her first husband, David Gulash, who tragically lost his life in the Vietnam War at the tender age of 25, and her second husband, Dennis Link, whom she married on November 6, 1971, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by a loving array of nieces and nephews, including Michael Garland, Randal Garland, Richard Garland, Breanna Leonard, Tabitha Leonard, Bianca Leonard, Tammy Poffenberger, Mark Poffenberger, Daniel Poffenberger, Elizabeth Poffenberger, Lisa Poffenberger, Albert Poffenberger, Sharon Mozingo, Brenda Keller, Butch Warren, Dana Spence, Kimberly Taylor, Jenna Taylor, and Kaylee Taylor: her "sons" Joseph Furby and Michael Marth. She was also the loving "Nana" to Adalyn and Marcus.

Roberta Maxine Link is fondly remembered for her unwavering commitment to family and her enduring spirit. As we celebrate her life, we honor the rich legacy of love she has left behind.
