It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Chaskey, born May 27, 1957, who passed away on April 23, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by strength, loyalty, and a deep love for the open road.
Rodney was a man who found freedom on his motorcycle, where the hum of the engine and the wind at his back brought him peace and joy. Riding wasn’t just a hobby—it was where he felt most alive. Whether traveling long stretches of highway or taking short rides through familiar roads, he carried with him a spirit of adventure that inspired everyone around him.
Beyond his love of motorcycles, Rodney was a devoted husband to his wife, Glenda, and a proud and loving father. He is survived by his daughters, Corrie Jewell (Jason) and Jillian Miller (Scott); and his sons, Van Snyder Jr. (Ashley), and Jesse Snyder. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in the lives they built and the memories they shared together.
Rodney was also a proud papa to his granddaughters, Ivy, Hailie, and Emerson, who brought him immense joy and were deeply loved.
Rodney will be remembered for his kindness, his determination, and the way he lived life on his own terms. His legacy rides on in the memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
Though he may be gone from our sight, we find comfort in imagining Rodney on an endless road—riding freely, surrounded by those who went before him, forever at peace.
Rodney is deeply missed and will be forever loved.
