Sherrin Jean Haralson

Sherrin Jean Haralson, of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully at her home on July 9, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sherrin was born on May 13, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. During her childhood, her family moved several times, but Sterling Heights ultimately became her home. She graduated from Henry Ford High School in Sterling Heights in 1979.

Sherri spent fourteen years working in the laundry department at Evangelical Nursing Home. She enjoyed her job and brought her skills home, gladly doing laundry or dishes. More recently, she took pride in her work "in house" at Life Enrichment Academy and especially enjoyed working at her favorite place: McDonald's.

Sherri loved to shop! Back in the day, Sherri would regularly visit Lakeside Mall and spend hours and hours there. Surely, part of the reason that Lakeside Mall closed was because Sherri didn't go as often. Sherri has always been a fashionista with her colorful wardrobe, beaded bracelets, and fun jewelry.

Sherri always enjoyed an outing: she would request to do "something fun" (which usually included a McDonald's diet coke) every weekend. She was a friend to everyone she met and loved chatting with her friends and family any chance she got.

Sherri had an innate ability to put a positive spin on every situation. After a trip to the grocery store, a walk around the neighborhood, or even a visit to the doctor, she would always say, "I had fun, thanks!"

Sherri loved her family dearly and enjoyed going on outings with her brothers, talking to her very close friend Billy, and spending time with her mom at home.

Sherri is survived by her loving mother, Phyllis Gotch; siblings Bill (Judy) Haralson of St. Paul, MN; Dale Sincock and Charles Gotch, of Sterling Heights, Ml; as well as many cousins, extended family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert T. Gotch Sr. and brother Robert Gotch Jr.

Sherri will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, positive spirit, and vibrant presence will never be forgotten.
