Warren, Michigan

Stephen “Steve” Duda, born on January 30, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home in Warren, Michigan, on May 10, 2026.

Steve was a man defined by his dedication to both his work and his play, a quality those closest to him admired deeply. His enthusiasm for life was evident in his many passions—foremost among them his love for golf, his unwavering devotion to Detroit sports teams, and cherished times spent in the peaceful retreat of northern Michigan.

He was a beloved husband of 47 years to his wife Sue, whose partnership and support were foundational throughout their long and loving marriage. Steve was also a proud father to his son Stephen (Kim) Duda, and daughters Amanda (Kheng) Be and Melinda (Brian) DeVore. The joy of his life was further enriched by his role as Grandpa and Papa to his grandchildren Emily, Annie, Tyler, Maggie, Celia, Rosie, and Hunter, who brought immense happiness to his later years.

Born to John and Margaret Duda, whose memories he treasured, Steve carried forward a legacy of kindness and strength.

A private family ceremony will be held on May 30th, allowing close relatives to honor his memory intimately. Following this, family and friends are warmly invited to gather on Saturday, June 20th, at 2 p.m. at Steve’s home for a Celebration of Life—a time to commemorate the remarkable spirit of a man who touched so many lives.

Steve Duda’s life was one of spirited enthusiasm and devoted love, remembered now with respect and deep affection by those who knew him best.
