Steven Paul Schalk

Steven Paul Schalk, born March 11, 1955, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at the age of 70.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristine, and their children, Matthew and Stephanie (Jake).

He is also survived by his mother, Ruth, along with his sisters, Suzie and Laurie Peltier, and his brothers, Craig, Terry (Donna), and Tobin (Cheryl). Steve's memory will be cherished by his nieces, Alexandra (Tony) and Megan (Trent), as well as his nephews, Bradley, Jeffrey (Julia), Kyle (Julie), Holden, Braden, and Andrew. He is also survived by his great-niece, Evelynn, and great-nephew, Dalton.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Arnold, and his brother-in-law, Duane Peltier.

Steve had a passion for life that shone through in his daily activities. He enjoyed morning walks, cheering for all Detroit sports teams, and dedicating Saturday mornings to jigsaw puzzles at his mother’s house. An avid bowler, he proudly achieved a perfect 300 game, and loved golfing with friends and family. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
