Sue Ann Laicu, lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Born on August 25, 1944, in Highland Park, Michigan, Sue Ann's presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her.
Sue Ann dedicated a significant portion of her career to both family and professional endeavors. She began her path as a top executive’s personal secretary at Ford Motor Company straight out of school, showcasing her exceptional talents and work ethic. After raising her family, she reentered the workforce as an executive evaluator for a corporate psychologists firm, further making her mark with her intelligence and professionalism.
Throughout her life, Sue Ann was known for her loving and caring nature. She raised her family in Livonia and Troy, values of love and support were instilled in her children. She proudly married Daniel William Laicu in 1965, and together they built a life filled with love and dedication. As they approached their 60th wedding anniversary on May 1, 2025, the depth of their partnership was a testament to true love.
Sue Ann is survived by her three children: Kristen Laicu, her eldest daughter aged 56; Daniel Laicu, her only son aged 52; and Lauren Laicu-LaPaugh, aged 49, who is married to Benjamin LaPaugh, aged 48. She was a cherished grandmother to Noah Daniel Laicu LaPaugh, 14, and Levi Benjamin Laicu LaPaugh, 12. In addition to her human family, her beloved puppy, Rosie Laicu, who was 7 years old, brought her much joy.
She is also survived by her sister, Karen Tolley, who resides in Tennessee, and carries on the family legacy after the passing of their parents and two sisters.
Sue Ann Laicu's warmth, love, and dedication to her family will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege of being part of her life. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones.
